The Independent Film & Television Alliance, formerly known as the American Film Marketing Association, is the trade association for the independent film and television industry.

This is the organization of the sales representatives that sell American films to other countries. By studying the member profiles you can get an excellent idea of what festivals they attend and what kinds of films they sell.

The Internet Movie Database has more basic information for filmmakers on movies than any other source. Searcheable info on full cast/crew, plots, reviews, ratings, new movies/DVDs, best movies by genre, advice to filmmakers and a whole lot more. This one needs to be in your bookmarks.

Recommended Library Of Annotated Film Schools Filmmaker.com has a site where you can find extensive feedback from film students describing their experience at all the top film schools. Don't even think about signing up at a film school until you've surfed this site.

MovieMaker magazine covers the entire art and business of independent filmmaking. The web site has many valueable articles and a subscription is a bargain for all you get.

Filmmaking.net offers a filmmakers FAQ, forum, software downloads, used equipment listing, links and store.

Filmmaker.com has articles, forum, software downloads, opinions of film schools from students and links.

Greg Pak, Filmmaker has a few articles and lots of links.

Filmmakers.com offers some news, a forum and links.

Knowledge Hound, Film has links and annoying popups.

Recommended Scriptologist Another great site for finding screenplays. Check both Scriptologist and Scriptorama for best version.

Recommended Drew's Script-O-Rama is the best site for finding movie screenplays. You need to read good screenplays and unless you live in L.A. you won't have access to libraries of the real thing. Script-O-Rama is the next best thing. Don't buy commercial books of screenplays because they generally aren't correctly formatted.
